I’ve always wanted to create a video for this song because it’s just so catchy. The rhyme scheme is incredibly good. The song is by Dacelynn.
I experimented with texture in this one and for the color palette, I chose mostly black and white to give it a retro, old-school feel, with subtle hints of color here and there.
I decided to use circles to visualize different elements of the song, creating natural match cuts throughout the video. Limiting myself to using only circles really pushed me to think creatively how to form different elements like the yin-yang and the pill while staying within that constraint.
I loved working on this project, and it helped me learn many new things. I also added a lot of roughen edges effect to remove the overly clean digital look and make the visuals feel more textured and organic.
